Fear Effect Sedna launches March 6th, 2018

The original Fear Effect took the PlayStation by storm back in 1999. The last game we got in the series was Fear Effect 2 in 2001, as the third entry Inferno on the PS2 was cancelled. But now we finally get a new iteration, and it’s co-written by the original writer. The french developer Sushee is working on both this and Fear Effect Reinvented, which is a remastered take on the original.

“[The game] takes Hana, Rain, Glas and Deke – along with new addition Axel – into the world of Inuit mythology. Built around a third-person isometric point of view, Fear Effect Sedna combines action, stealth, and puzzle solving with animated cutscenes – crucially including the classic death cutscenes from the original games.

‘Developing Fear Effect Sedna has really brought the team here at Sushee together, and that’s exactly what the gameplay is about. Each character has different special weapons and the game includes a paused tactical mode to control different team members at the same time and give orders to work as a team. It’s an approach that taps into the core structure of the original games but, with the technology available to us today, feels very 2018.’ – Benjamin Anseaume, founder of Sushee.”

Fear Effect Sedna will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC Tuesday March 6th, 2018 for $19.99.
