Game Over (Sebastian Komor DJ Mix) Premiere

For anyone that’s never heard a DJ Mix before, it’s essentially a playlist of songs from various artists with the DJ’s own flares added in to make a cohesive compilation of tunes that match one another. The last mix in this style that I can remember listening to was from Sub Focus many years ago. It’s an interesting way of discovering new music, as you are less likely to skip the song since they’re typically over an hour long, and in most cases, they have a similar dynamic so you either like most of them or none of them. However, should you choose to skip something, you can see the tracks and their time stamps below if you wish to move onto the next song.

If you’re unfamiliar with all the music FiXT is home to, this is a nice take on what they have to offer. While the music featured here is mostly heavy and something that could easily be thrown on at a rave, there are a few surprises throughout. If you’re a fan of electronic rock or drum and bass though, this should be right up your alley. It also shows off Sebastian’s remix skills, although that should go without saying. The few remixes from him found on here are an absolute joy – I wish there were more than the handful provided. An understated skill Komor has is his ability to properly transition between songs, making the whole thing seem like a single piece opposed to a mix tape you made your ex in middle school. I’m glad I had a chance to listen to this, as I’ve not had an opportunity to listen to all the new artists that are being brought onto the label, and the music showcased here makes me want to pay more attention to the newer folks I haven’t gotten around to yet. Of course, having it peppered in with more familiar stuff from the likes of Klayton and Bret make it that much better. The official description for the mix can be found below:
