RealMYHA by The Icehouse

It’s not often that we discuss Kickstarters here, because we understand that there have been many disappointments in the past. However, we have always had great experiences with the games created by these folks, so it’s a safe bet this won’t be any different. From the minds behind the ASA series and RoonSehv, we’ll see a fully fleshed out version of MYHA, which was created for the Myst Game Jam in 2016.

If you’ve never played any of their games, you can more or less expect them to be in line with the Myst series, although this one looks to take more from Obduction. While the base game will be more or less the same, the island will be recreated, new content will be added, and it’ll look a whole lot nicer.

If you’re completely oblivious to the story, it may remind you a bit of 2001: A Space Odyssey with its black cubes that serve as monoliths in terms of technology and guidance for the human race. They were created by an alien race known as the Anterran. But what they were actually created for is a mystery across all the games thus far.

Give a little, give a lot, it’s up to you. Simon and Denis have always been great people to work with, and if you’re a fan of the genre, you won’t be disappointed. If you’d like to see what they’re capable of, you can play the original Myha for free here, as well as RoonSehv here. You can also check out the ASA games on Steam here. You can donate to the Kickstarter here.
